With field and fell views and pretty stone features, this historic 4-star (Enjoy England) bed and breakfast has oodles going for it, not least its warm and welcoming hosts. Despite retaining its 17th century charm within – roaring fire, oak beams – Ling House has all the modern comforts in its two double/twin en-suites: comfy beds, homemade cakes on arrival and a spa bath in one of the rooms!
Historical Ling House offers you a very warm welcome, having lots of charm and character and being located in the heart of Upper Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales and Calender Girl Country.
The super-king/twin bedroom en-suite (front room road side) has its own spa bathroom with shower facilities. It can be made up with two single beds or a 6ft super king sized bed, with tea/coffee making facilities, a chair and a television with satellite viewing. From the bedroom window you can look up to Threshfield Moor.
The double en-suite bedroom (back room) has an en-suite shower room. It has a sleigh bed (standard 4'6" bed), tea/coffee making facilities, a comfortable chair and a television with DVD player. From the large bedroom window you look out onto open fields and towards the villages of Grassington, Burnsall, Hebden and beyond.
Threshfield has its own pub which serves good food (2 minute walk away) and Grassington, which has a wide range of shops, pubs and cafes, is within easy walking distance.
We are very close to both the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway and the Dalesway. There is good walking in all directions and we have maps and books to help you explore.
The nearest town is Skipton, a popular market town just 8 miles away, which has a castle and is on the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Harrogate and Ripon are about 20 miles away. ‘Herriot’ country is within exploring distance, much of the filming being done at Askrigg in Wensleydale.
